Green Tie Ball - Pre-events

Thanks to everyone who participated in the three events that led up to the Green Tie Ball. We are grateful for your support and for the support of all of our sponsors.

GREEN TIE: GAME ON!

If you were there on Wednesday, June 11th, you experienced the most successful - and fun! - Green Tie Ball kick-off event to date! Chips were played, cigars lit, great food was served, beverages flowed, celebrities were seen, fashion was on display and lots of money was raised for Chicago Gateway Green. Over 100 players, including celebrities Richard Roeper, Ali Azhar of HGTV's Design on a Dime, Mookie Lee of Survivor Fiji, Marcus Riley of NBC5, Alderman Richard Mell, and State Senator John Fritchey were among those who played. The final ten now move forward to the Final Round at Green Tie Ball XVII on Saturday, September 13 for a chance to win a seat at the 2009 World Series of Poker event in Las Vegas.

A dazzling fashion show produced by the creative team at Akira, under the direction of partner Jon Cotay, captivated players and spectators alike with fashions for men and women.

AKiRa Presents: Carnivale! 6th Anniversary Party (1837 w. north ave)–July 17, 2008 6:00 – 9:00 PM

On Thursday, July 17, the style and energy of Akira came together with the mission of Chicago Gateway Green in celebration of Carnivale!
The evening was a smashing success! A fabulous time was had by all as the 3 Akira North Ave stores transformed into an elaborate Carnivale explosions with live music, summer cocktails and food from some of Chicago’s top restaurants.

There are many people who helped make this happen, and we would like to thank each and every one of you for your efforts and contributions to that success – especially those of you who came out to support Chicago Gateway Green!!

GREEN TIE PARTIES AT MANOR NIGHTCLUB

Thursday August 14, Chicago Gateway Green celebrated our third and final countdown to Green Tie Ball event at Manor nightclub. We are thrilled to report to all of you that this event, like the previous two was a huge success!

As many of you may already be aware, this was the first time that Green Tie Ball and Gateway green had a calendar of events leading up to Green Tie Ball. The goal was not only to raise money for Gateway green, but to build awareness of Green Tie Ball and the mission and message of Chicago Gateway Green. With the support and assistance from all of you we did just that!

There are many, many people who helped make this happen, and we would like to take a quick moment to thank each and every one of you for your efforts and contributions to that success.

We would like to send our Thanks to the management and staff of Manor nightclub who not only donated the space, but their time and support as well.
